The Kindergarten and Pre-Prep groups provide an excellent foundation for a child's school career. They regularly visit the main school and take part in many of their events. Consequently, when the time comes to make the step to compulsory education they are confident little people.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) at pre-school level is enjoyed in a number of ways. Through role play children develop interactive and communicative skills and learn to work in partnerships with their peers.

Life in the main school begins at four and the children are taught in seven year groups.
CopyrightOur aims are to provide an environment conducive to learning. The six areas of learning are all supported and developed by the daily activities undertaken by the children. Our experienced and caring staff carefully monitor the children's progress and regularly report to parents.

Class sizes are relatively small ensuring a high degree of individual teaching. There is an emphasis on group work to encourage interaction with others and to develop team skills. All special educational needs are supported with children having individual lessons as appropriate.

Practical investigations develop and encourage inquisitive minds to be aware and understand science and scientific principles.
CopyrightChildren are encouraged to positively enjoy the learning process. A strong foundation of literacy and mathematical skills are worked upon at all stages. Formal tuition in the 3Rs cannot be over estimated; at all stages of a child's school career the importance of foundation subjects is paramount.

All subjects are timetabled to ensure a balanced education both in written and practical areas of the curriculum. The school has three practical work areas and the children's creative work is displayed throughout the school. Their skills blossom with maturity and at all ages and stages of development artistic talent is nurtured.

Parents will receive termly reports of their children's progress. These may be verbal reports during an individual appointment with the form teacher or written reports. The head teachers and staff are always pleased to talk with parents at any appropriate time by appointment.
CopyrightHomework is gradually introduced to the children, initially by reading at home and then more formal tasks in Form 2 and beyond. We believe homework stimulates self discipline as well as accelerating the learning process and fostering organisational skills.

While we, as a school, are not obliged to participate in the SATS process, we do hold examinations (at ages 7 and 11) voluntarily. Invariably our pupils achieve or exceed the national standard target levels - as illustrated on the 'Exam Results' page.
